Luke M. Wadel, age 71, of Bourbon, died at 7:14 pm, Friday, December 17, 2021 at the Center for Hospice in Mishawaka [IN] after a short illness. He was born December 7, 1950 in Chambersburg, PA to Noah and Lydia (Horst) Wadel.

In 1971, he married Judith Frey. She preceded in death June 15, 1998. Mr. Wadel moved to this area in May of 2016. He had worked as a carpenter.

Surviving are his children, Janelle (Brent) Slabaugh, Bourbon, LaVern (Donella) Wadel, Dodge Center, MN; grandchildren, Janessa Slabaugh, Beverly Slabaugh, Joelle Slabaugh, Bensen Slabaugh, Josiah Slabaugh, Linsay Wadel, Gareth Wadel, Landin Wadel; and siblings, John (Connie) Wadel, Chambersburg, PA, Esther (Lester) Showalter, Creencastle, MD, Eunice Lehman, Hanover, PA, Martha (Issac) Horst, Millen, GA, Daniel (Esther) Wadel, Chambersburg, PA, James (Ellen) Wadel, Mexico, and Robert (Brenda) Wadel, Chambersburg, PA. Nathan L. Wadel, age 76 of Chambersburg, PA born January 14, 1945 in Pinola, PA died Saturday, January 16, 2021 at Chambersburg Hospital. He was born a son of the late Laban A. and Grace (Lehman) Wadel.

Nathan graduated from Shippensburg High School in 1963. He was a member of the Strasburg Mennonite Church where he was a retired minister of the gospel. He was a salesman at the Chambersburg Farm Services/Hoobers, Inc. for 50 plus years.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Esther Louise (Ebersole) Wadel. He is also survived by four sons, Titus L. (Rosene) Wadel of Chambersburg, Jason L. (Donna) Wadel of East Waterford, Vernon L. (Karen) Wadel of Bernville, and Clayton L. Wadel of Chambersburg, one daughter, Amy L. (Barton) Risser of Waynesboro, 19 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, one sister, Almeda (Martin) Lehman and three brothers, Clyde, Ray and Marvin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Wadel and a sister, Naomi Wadel.

Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., Shippensburg. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, January 20 at Rowe Mennonite Church, 754 Pinola Road, Shippensburg with Marvin Musser, David Lehman and Leon Miller officiating. Interment will be in Rowe Mennonite Cemetery. A viewing will be held at the church on Tuesday from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, and on Wednesday from 9:00 AM until time of services.

Paul A. Wagler, 71, of Middlebury, died on Friday, November 12 at Sarasota Memorial Hospital, Sarasota, FL, following complications from surgery. He was a member of the Old Order Amish Church. Paul and his wife resided in Sarasota during the winter months, and he was employed by Yoder's Produce in Sarasota. He was born on October 16, 1950, in Daviess County, IN, to Arthur and Alta (Knepp) Wagler. On November 25, 1971, in Middlebury, he married Barbara Ellen Miller, she survives.

Survivors in addition to his wife are seven daughters, Delores Schlabach, Rosemary Wagler, Ruthann (Calvin) Bontrager, SuEllen (Leon) Yoder, Clara Wagler all of Middlebury, Alta (Lavon) Yoder of Shipshewana, Katie (Larry) Miller of Sarasota, FL; two sons, Marlin (Leona) Wagler of LaGrange, William (Regina) Wagler of Topeka; 38 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; eight brothers, Harry (Mary) Wagler of OH, Martin (Marie) Wagler, Ezra (Geneva) Wagler, Ben (Sue) Wagler, Amos (Ida Rose) Wagler, Artie (Sara) Wagler, Dave (Marjorie) Wagler, Glen (Marjorie) Wagler all of Daviess County, IN; three sisters, Rosalie Stoll, Lovina (Wilmer) Raber, Alta Wagler all of Daviess County, IN.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law, Norman Schlabach; grandson, Michael Bontrager; brother-in-law, Wilmer Stoll.

Visitation will be all day Wednesday, November 17 at the family residence, 58783 CR 43, Middlebury. Funeral services will be at 9:30 am on Thursday, November 18 also at the family residence. Services will be conducted by Bishop Melvin R. Miller and the home ministers. Burial will be in Mast Cemetery, Middlebury. Aaron W. Weaver, age 74, of Barnett, Missouri, passed away Monday, December 6, 2021 at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital, Jefferson City, Missouri. He was born January 11, 1947 in Ephrata, Pennsylvania, a son of Aaron S. and Mabel G. (Wanner) Weaver.

On May 13, 1967, in New Holland, Pennsylvania, he was united in marriage to Elizabeth S. Nolt. To this union eleven children were born. Together, they shared the past fifty-four years of marriage.

Aaron was raised in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania and worked as a farmer. They moved to Missouri in 1972 where he continued as a farmer and worked in construction. In 1998, he opened Weaver’s Tire Service. He sold the business in 2005 to his sons and returned to Pennsylvania to help care for his father. Aaron and Elizabeth then returned to Missouri in 2018. He was a member of Ridge View Mennonite Church in Barnett.

Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Weaver of the home; eleven children, Barry Weaver and wife Doris of Warrensburg, Missouri, Sharon Zimmerman and husband Richard of Quarryville, Pennsylvania, Darlene Nolt and husband Philip of Manheim, Pennsylvania, Curvin Weaver and wife Dawn of Versailles, Missouri, Jason Weaver and wife Elsie of Fort Worth, Texas, Luanne Nolt and husband Chester of Warrensburg, Missouri, Wilma Carpenter and husband Matthew of Vanderhoof, British Columbia, Aaron Weaver and wife Karen of Barnett, Missouri, David Weaver and wife Bethany of Barnett, Missouri, Elizabeth Bair and husband Nelson of Kingston, Idaho and Mabel Carpenter and husband Stephen of Burns Lake, British Columbia; sixty-five grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; six brothers, Ivan Weaver, Raymond Weaver and wife Janet, Elvin Weaver and wife Linda, Melvin Weaver and wife Erma, Ervin Weaver and wife Lois and Paul Weaver and wife Reba; four sisters, Irene Groff and husband Kenneth, Sadie Sensenig, Mabel Martin and husband Leon and Linda Brubaker; two brothers-in-law, Leroy Nolt and Paul Shirk; a sister-in-law, Esther Weaver and a host of other relatives.

Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 13, 2021 at Versailles Mennonite Church. Burial will follow in Beulah Cemetery, Versailles. Visitation will be from 1:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday at the church.

Alvin M. Weaver, 94, of Lititz, passed away on Wednesday, June 2, 2021, at Landis Homes.

Alvin was a dairy farmer and developer. He enjoyed people, travel and hunting. His love for the "Mennonite" church was reflected in the many ways he volunteered in congregational life and church agencies.

Alvin is survived by five children, Yvonne Weaver, Jesse, husband of Darlene (Reiff) Weaver, Deborah, wife of Lester Weaver, Beth, wife of Elias Gingrich, Judith, wife of Jeffrey Bohlen; two step sons, Gerald, husband of DJ Kling, Nelson, husband of Marie Kling; 12 grandchildren; 4 step grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 5 step great-grandchildren; a sister, Grace Martin and two sisters-in-law, Alma Weaver and Edna Weaver.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Elta M. (Frey) Weaver; his second wife, Gail Elizabeth (Frey) Kling Weaver and eight siblings.

A viewing will be held on Sunday, June 6, 2021, from 1 to 4 PM at the Millport Mennonite Church, 820 Log Cabin Road, Leola. A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 7, 2021, at 2:00 PM at the church, with Chaplain Anne Kaufman Weaver (Landis Homes) and Reverend Leon Zimmerman officiating. Interment will take place in the Gingrichs Mennonite Church Cemetery.

Bruce A. Weaver, 51, of Myerstown, passed away on Thursday October 7, 2021 on Ridge Rd. in Cameron County, PA. He was the husband of Sherry (Eberly) Weaver, married 28 years. He was born in Ephrata, PA October 6, 1970 the son of Evelyn (Weber) and the late George W. Weaver.

Early in life, he held employment at The Original Blue Good’s Potato Chips. Bruce then gained employment as a Class A Water Works Operator at Womelsdorf Robesonia Water Authority, and then was the Chief Operator. Bruce was a hardworking, dedicated employee who enjoyed serving his community for 24 years until the time of his death.

He was known as an avid hunter, fisherman, and enjoyed anything that dealt with the outdoors. He was an active volunteer firefighter for 25 years with Reinholds Fire Department, and attended Millcreek Community Church. Also, he enjoyed his motorcycles and was able to fix anything.

Bruce is survived by his wife Sherry, mother Evelyn, sisters; Diane Burkholder (Dale), Darla Shirk (Leonard), Carol Smoker ( the late Kevin Smoker), brothers; Gerald Weaver (Debra), Gary Weaver (Judy), in-laws, Glenn & Dorene Eberly, sister-in-law, Kelly Blakeslee (Lucas), 17 nieces & nephews, 2 step nephews and numerous great-nieces &nephews.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday October 20, 2021 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM followed by a memorial service at 11:00 AM, at Faith Mennonite Fellowship, 335 N. Line Rd., Stevens, PA 17578.

Chadwin E. Weaver, 27, of Leola, passed away, Tuesday, January 19, 2021 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Ocala, FL. Born in Ephrata, he was the son of Sherwin M. and Sheila (Martin) Weaver.

Chad worked as a self-employed truck driver for Garber Farms. He also assisted on the family farm. He was a committed Christian and a member of Leola Mennonite Church. He enjoyed various mission trips with Christian Aid Ministries. Chad enjoyed relationships with family and friends. As a young boy, Chad took an interest in airplanes and fulfilled his dream of becoming a pilot.

In addition to his parents, Chad is survived by: two sisters, Rosalyn G. wife of Brandon Good, Lebanon, Andrea B. Weaver, at home; four brothers, Glendon S., Nolan K., S. Brent, and Ryan W. Weaver, all at home; paternal grandfather, Landis W. Weaver, Leola; maternal grandparents, Carl and Rachel Martin of Lebanon. His paternal grandmother, Edna G. Weaver, was called home on the same day.

Funeral service will be Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Charity Christian Fellowship, 59 S. Groffdale Road, Leola, PA. Friends may call on Monday, January 25, 2021 at Midway Mennonite Reception Center, 210 Lexington Road, Lititz, from 1-4 and 5-8 p.m. Interment will be in Leola Mennonite Church Cemetery.

Clarence M. Weaver, 79, of Richland, entered into the arms of Jesus while surrounded by his children and spouses on Friday, September 10, 2021. He was the husband of A. Arlene (Martin) Weaver, to whom he would have been married 57 years on October 31, 2021. Born in New Holland, PA on July 19, 1942, he was a son of the late George and Lydia (Martin) Weaver.

Clarence was a member of Ephrata Community Church. He worked as a self-employed farmer, and was also employed as a truck driver for Triple M Farms, Lebanon, for 19 years.

In addition to his wife, Clarence is survived by a daughter, Dawn, wife of Leon Zimmerman, of Myerstown; sons, Dean, husband of Shelby Weaver, of Newmanstown, Sohkea Ka, husband of Len c Thorn, of Philadelphia, Derry, husband of Sherri Weaver, of Newmanstown, David, husband of Yvonne Weaver, of Womelsdorf; 15 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brothers, Martin, husband of Rachel Weaver, of Honey Brook, George, husband of Joann Weaver, of New Holland, Mervin Weaver, of IL; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by sisters, Esther Gage, Irene Weaver, and Anna Martin; and brothers, Raymond and Lester Weaver.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 16, 2021 at 10 a.m. at Hammer Creek Mennonite Church, 590 Hammer Creek Rd., Lititz, preceded by a viewing beginning at 9 a.m. A viewing will also be held Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at the church. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery.

Darlene A. Weaver, 90, a resident of the Mennonite Fellowship Home, Hagerstown, MD, formerly of Newville, [PA] departed this life on the evening of Sunday, August 22, 2021.
She was born on November 1, 1930, in Manheim, [PA] a daughter of the late Elmer K. and Beulah Mae (Herr) Bruckhart. Darlene married Harold H. Weaver on January 3, 1953 in the Hernley Mennonite Church in Manheim. He preceded her in death on April 19, 2012.

Darlene is survived by her son, Harold E. Weaver, Jr., and wife Irene of Newville, [PA]; ten grandchildren; thirty great grandchildren; two brothers, Robert Bruckhart and wife Margaret of Lititz, and Richard Bruckhart and wife Ruth of Stevens; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Darlene was preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Lillian and Bernard Spanier.

Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Friday, August 27, 2021, at the Stoughstown Mennonite Church at 3715 Ritner Highway Newville, PA 17241. The local ministry will officiate. Interment will follow in the adjoining church cemetery. David F. Weaver, 74, of Ephrata, passed on to his eternal reward on November 11, 2021, after a short illness. Born in Ephrata, he was the son of the late Jacob and Lydia (Fox) Weaver.

David was a member of Groffdale Mennonite Church (Weaverland Conference). He was a truck driver and in more recent years he provided transportation for the plain community.

He is survived by his wife; Ruth (Sensenig) Weaver, with whom he shared twelve and a half years of marriage, his children; Eugene husband of Susan (Sadler) Weaver of Ashland, OH, Nelson husband of Glenda (Auker) Weaver of Manheim, PA, Marlene wife of Dale Zimmerman of Annville, PA, David, Jr. husband of Marilyn (Shirk) Weaver of Kutztown, PA and Susan wife of Jason Wenger of Annville, PA, twenty-two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Also surviving, are siblings, Harvey husband of Emma (Fox) Weaver of Ephrata, Mary Weaver of Ephrata, Lloyd husband of Lena (Zimmerman) Weaver of Ephrata and Leroy husband of Edna (Rissler) Weaver of Stevens.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife Alda (Nolt) Weaver, who passed away in February of 2007 and sister; Emma Weaver.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 15, 2021 at 9:30 AM at Groffdale Mennonite Church (Weaverland Conference), 90 Groffdale Church Road, Leola, PA 17540. A viewing will be held on Sunday, November 14, 2021 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Farm Crest Reception Center, 1100 Farm Crest Drive, Ephrata, PA 17522. Dean Mark Weaver, 55, a resident of Linville, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2021, at Sentara RMH Medical Center from COVID-19. He was healthy and active two weeks prior and was diligent and careful throughout this pandemic.

Dean was born in Bath, N.Y., and was one of 10 children to Irvin David Weaver of Linville and the late Katherine “Kitty” Phenneger Weaver.

In 1989, Dean graduated from Eastern Mennonite University with a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology. On the soccer team he was known for his agility, determination, athletic prowess and acrobatic ability. He was famous for his flip throw in soccer.

A loving and committed family man, Dean was also integral to the communities of Harrisonburg and Broadway through coaching, volunteering, church involvement, and entrepreneurial achievements. He gave so much time and energy to others, while remaining consistently present and active with his family.

A man of faith, and member of Park View Mennonite Church, Dean was a friend to people of many types and persuasions, and would routinely engage in political and theological discussions. For the sake of learning from and understanding them, he would consider before he’d contend. Dean’s humility was apparent in his ability to listen genuinely and respectfully--which was a key component in his gift for mediation. He was an eternal optimist and believed in the goodness of others. He made an impression on people and was easily remembered.

Dean radiated fun, compassion, energy, and spunk. He was a kid at heart always looking for a good joke or pun. He was goofy, not afraid to be silly, and had nicknames for almost everyone (to accommodate his deficit in name recall). His favorite every-day outfit was jeans and a black t-shirt because he did not care to spend his time thinking about what he might wear. Dean loved the camaraderie of his poker buddies and will be remembered for “The Deano” (ace/6).

Dean will forever be remembered by his friends and family as a life-long and loyal Buffalo Bills fan, someone who snored louder than anyone else, a person who made up his own words, and often substituted words within metaphors. He would often send notes of endearment to those he appreciated, or wanted to encourage. He would also fill post-it notes with random quotes and leave them scattered throughout his home. Dean’s writing demonstrated his creative and caring mind (but poor spelling). He enjoyed the sunshine and spending time outdoors, especially at the end of the day with a good local brew.

Dean is survived by his beloved wife of 26 years, Andrea Stoltzfus Weaver and four children, whom he adored, Chloe Elizabeth Weaver, Sophia Grace Weaver, Kate Isabel Weaver, Luke Aaron Weaver; siblings, Susan L. Halterman and husband, Bernie, D. Paul Weaver, Phyllis M. Thomas and husband, Al, Dale Weaver, Doug Weaver and wife, Sandra, Marcia Jones and husband, Kevin, and Kay Lera and husband, Robert, a special aunt, (Hazel) Lorraine Weaver; numerous nieces and nephews and in-laws, Aaron and Becky Stoltzfus.

During his hospitalization he often commented on his exceptional care. The family will forever be grateful to the compassionate medical staff who continue to courageously endure the brunt of this pandemic. To honor Dean’s life, the family respectfully asks that you prioritize mask wearing, vaccination, and following COVID-19 safety guidelines.

Doris B. Weaver, age 87 of Goshen, IN, died at 1:51pm, Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at her daughter’s residence after a short illness. She was born on November 12, 1933 to Ezra and Lydia (Bauman) Martin in Nappanee, IN and lived in the surrounding area her entire life. On October 17, 1954, Doris married Lowell Merlin Weaver. He preceded her in death on December 20, 2017. Mrs. Weaver was a member of the Wisler Mennonite Church.

She is survived by 2 daughters, Elaine (Harlan) Zimmerman of Nappanee, IN and Mary Jane Weaver of Goshen, IN; 2 sons, Steven (Sheryl) Weaver of Goshen, IN and Glenn (Ruth Ann) Weaver of Wakarusa; son-in-law Marvin (Nora) Ramer of Nappanee, 31 grandchildren; 117 great grandchildren; 4 brothers, Lowell (Mary Alice) Martin of Nappanee, IN, Robert (Elsie) Martin of Snover, MI, Carl Martin of Goshen, IN and Dean (Marciel) Martin of Nappanee, IN; and 2 sisters, Mable Martin of Goshen, IN and Nila Martin, of Nappanee, IN.

Edna G. Weaver, 80, of Leola, entered into rest on Tuesday, January 19, 2021. Born in West Earl Township, she was the daughter of the late John B. and Anna Mae Groff Martin. She was the loving wife of Landis W. Weaver for 60 years 11 months. She was a homemaker and a member of the Centerville Mennonite Church. Edna was a loving and caring person with interest in the lives of friends and family.

Elizabeth M. "Betty" Weaver, 96, of Ephrata, passed away Thursday, March 11, 2021, at Fairmount Homes Inc. She was born in Earl Township to the late Henry M. and Almeta (Heller) Nolt and was the wife of the late Abram H. Weaver who passed away in 2018.

She is survived by a daughter, Dolores, wife of Donald Newswanger; three sons, Clair, husband of Betsy (Stoltzfus) Weaver, Dale, husband of Brenda (Martin) Weaver, Clydeth, husband of Diane (Shreiner) Weaver; a daughter-in-law, Kay (Ecenroad) Weaver; 12 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren and a sister, Luella Nolt Martin. In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by a son, Glenn Weaver and a brother-in-law, Harry Martin.

A viewing will be held on Monday, March 15, 2021, from 9 to 10 AM, at New Haven Mennonite Church, 230 Crest Road, Lititz, followed by her funeral service at 10 AM, with New Haven Mennonite Ministry officiating. Interment will take place in the New Haven Mennonite Cemetery.

Elsie Jane Weaver, 82, of Ephrata, went to her eternal home on Saturday afternoon, November 27, 2021, after a brief illness.

She was born in Earl Township, daughter of the late Horace A. Wanner and Eva W. (Stauffer) Wanner. She was the wife of the late Raymond R. Weaver who passed away in November 2010.

Jane was a member of Blue Ball Church of the Brethren. She loved spending time with family, she blessed many through her gifts of serving and hospitality and she enjoyed gardening, canning, and baking. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, as well as a faithful friend and follower of Jesus Christ.

She was previously employed by S. Clyde Weaver Meats and as a deli clerk at Weaver Markets.

Surviving are her sons, Galen R., husband of Janet (Martin) Weaver of Ephrata and Linford L., husband of Beverly (Baker) Weaver of Reinholds; daughters, L. Elaine, wife of Jacob Good of Palmyra, Caroline, wife of Glenn Brenneman of Lititz, and Janet, wife of Karl Oberholtzer of Ephrata; sisters, Kathryn Kochel, Helen Snader, Edith, wife of Eugene Horning, and Margie, wife of Marvin Weaver; a brother, Horace S., husband of Dorothy Wanner; 16 grandchildren and 30 great- grandchildren.

Four grandchildren welcomed her to heaven. She was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Leaman and brother, Charles Wanner.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, December 1, 2021, from 6 to 8 PM and Thursday, December 2, 2021 from 9 to 10 AM at the Blue Ball Church of the Brethren, 1005 Main Street, Blue Ball. Floyd V. Weaver, 63, of LaGrange, died at 8:45 am on Friday, October 29, at his residence, surrounded by his mother and siblings. He was born on August 26, 1958 in LaGrange County to Vernon D. and Elva J. (Miller) Weaver.

Survivors include his mother of LaGrange, four brothers, Glen (Linda) Weaver of Shipshewana, Wilmer (Mary) Weaver of Shipshewana, David J. (Betty) Weaver of Shipshewana, Vernon (Norma) Weaver, Jr. of Middlebury; six sisters, Freda (Dave) Yutzy of Shipshewana, Ella (Melvin) Yutzy of Shipshewana, Alice (Glen) Bontrager of Shipshewana, Ida A. (Wayne) Lengyel of Middlebury, Katie I. (Merle) Miller of Goshen, Joan (Joe) Troyer of Shipshewana; extended family, Jack R., deceased and Mary F. Raifsnider; 37 nieces and nephews, 43 great nieces and nephews, whom he loved spending time with.

Floyd was a member of the Old Order Amish Church and had worked for his dad in the Buggy Shop for many years. Later he helped out at Weavers Seasonings until his health no longer allowed him to work.

Visitation will be after 2:00 pm on Saturday, October 30, and all day Sunday, October 31, at the Gene Miller residence, 7370 W. 050 N., LaGrange. Funeral services will be at 9:30 am on Monday, November 1, at the same residence. Services will be conducted by Bishop John Mishler, Elva Miller and Gary Lambright. Henry Weaver, beloved father, friend and former Goshen College professor, provost, and president, died at age 93 on December 7, 2021.

Henry was born May 5, 1928 in Harrisonburg, Virginia to Henry and Sallie (Wenger) Weaver. He was the youngest of five siblings. He grew up in the small village of Parkview, Va, where everyone knew him as Henry Jr. As a child he attended a three-room school with a “cool outhouse”. Although he traveled the world, he always considered himself a Virginian at heart.

As a 19-year-old in the wake of World War II, he became a “seagoing cowboy” and volunteered as a hand on a livestock boat delivering donated horses to war-torn Europe. He landed in Trieste, Italy, visited Venice, and was forever bitten by the travel bug.

Henry attended Eastern Mennonite School and College (now Easterm Mennonite University) and earned a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from George Washington University in 1950. He earned a master of science degree in organic chemistry and a doctorate in physical chemistry from the University of Delaware in 1953.

Henry married Mary Eby on June 7, 1952. They moved to Goshen, Indiana in 1957, where they raised four children. Mary and Hank had a long and loving marriage. She passed away on August 22, 2020.

Henry taught Chemistry at Eastern Mennonite College 1951-1957, then worked for Goshen College for 22 years (1957-1979), as a chemistry professor and provost. In 1996 he returned as interim president. He loved interacting with his students and fellow faculty members. He was instrumental in developing Goshen’s Study-Service Term, one of the first programs in the nation to make international study a graduation requirement. It was one of his proudest professional accomplishments.

He found ways to travel by working as a Fulbright lecturer and other university positions. In this way he took his family to Peru, Nepal, Poland, and Spain, and spent a year of his retirement in Bulgaria. He said, “The close interaction with faculty helped me to see each country from people inside the structure and to see my own country through their eyes.”

In 1979 he and Mary moved to Santa Barbara, California, where he became Deputy Director of the Education Abroad Program of the University of California System. He retired in 1991. He worked all his life to help others have the kinds of life-expanding experiences with other cultures that he had.

In retirement, he continued his passions for photography and ham radio. He and Mary spent time in both Goshen and Apex, North Carolina. He was always full of fun and optimism, had an impish sense of humor, and found ways to make things happen when everybody else thought it was impossible. He was a cancer survivor who taught his family to take joy in each new day.

He was a longtime member of College Mennonite Church in Goshen. During his time in California, he was a member and elder of the Goleta Presbyterian Church. In North Carolina he attended the Kirk of Kildaire Presbytarian Church of Cary.

Henry was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, and his beloved wife, Mary. He is survived by his four children: Sally (John) Weaver Glick of Goshen; Judy (Richard Aguirre) Weaver of Goshen; Debora Weaver of Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina; and J. Donald (Rosanna) Weaver of Hyattsville, Maryland; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild, as well as a large extended family.

Isaac H. Weaver, 71, of 923 Martin Church Rd., New Holland, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 31, 2021, at WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital. His wife, Lizzie F. (Wenger) Weaver survives.

Born in Brecknock Twp., he was the son of the late Amos Z. and Lena N. (Hoover) Weaver.

Isaac learned the cabinetry trade at Rutt's Kitchens, and then founded and owned Weaver's Wood Working for many years.

Ivan N. Weaver, 78, of Lancaster, passed away on Wednesday, December 8, 2021. Born in West Earl Township, he was the son of the Martin M. and Elizabeth (Nolt) Weaver.

He was employed for many years at Armstrong in Lancaster as an Equipment Operator.

Ivan is survived by his children; Ivan Weaver, Jr. of Lancaster, Timothy Weaver of Lancaster and Gloria wife of Andy Krueger of Ephrata, eleven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Also surviving are brothers; Frank husband of Laura Weaver of Narvon and Edward husband of Arlene Weaver of New Holland, a sister; Nora Stauffer of New Holland, a brother-in-law; Lean husband of Clara Martin of Ephrata. Jason B. Weaver, 94, of Richmond Township, died Wednesday, May 19, 2021, in the residence of his son Eugene R. Weaver, with whom he resided. Jason was the widower of Alma K. (Ringler) Weaver, who died October 20, 2013. Born in East Earl Township, Lancaster County, he was a son of the late Noah S. and Onea L. (Bare) Weaver. A member of the Groffdale Conference of Mennonites, Jason attended the Fleetwood Mennonite Church, Fleetwood. He was a retired farmer.

Mr. Weaver is survived by five daughters: Pauline R. (Weaver), wife of Ralph M. Martin, Thorp, WI; Anna R. (Weaver), wife of Rufus N. Martin; Elsie R. (Weaver), wife of Daniel Z. Brubacher; Susan R. (Weaver), wife of Lester S. Martin, all of Withee, WI; Vera R. (Weaver), widow of Ernest K. LeRoy M. Weaver, 81, of Stevens, passed away on Saturday, April 3, 2021, at WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital.

He was born in East Earl to the late Harry H. and Mary (Martin) Weaver and was the husband of Wilma M. (Byler) Weaver.

LeRoy was a member of Hammer Creek Mennonite Church, Lititz. He enjoyed gardening and attending tractor shows.

LeRoy worked as a truck driver for Martin Limestone for over 40 years prior to his retirement.

In addition to his wife, LeRoy is survived by daughter, Cynthia S. Breneman; five sisters, Louella Horst, Mary Jane Lehman, Katheryn (Roman) Musser, Beulah (Wilmer) Musser, and Mildred (Lester) Musser; and brother, Harry Weaver, Jr. (Linda Musser).

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by first wife, Arlene M. Martin in 2000; sister, Esther Mae Oberholtzer, brother, Raymond Weaver, and infant brother, Richard Weaver.

Lizzie Mae Weaver, 89, of 299 Sawmill Road, Chapman Township, Snyder County, died at 9:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 18, 2021, at her home.

She was born May 6, 1932, in Ephrata, a daughter of the late Amon Aucker and Mary (Shaub) Aucker. On June 26, 1952, she married David Weaver who preceded her in death on March 31, 2005.

She was a member of Riverview Old Order Mennonite Church, Snyder County Conference.

Mahlon S. Weaver, 70, of Reading, formerly of Ephrata, passed away on Friday, January 29, 2021, at Fairlane Gardens Nursing and Rehabilitation.

He was born in East Cocalico Township to the late Martin S. and Clara D. (Stahl) Weaver and was the husband of the late Phobe M. (Weaver) Weaver.

Mahlon is survived by two daughters, Hope Weaver of Ephrata, Faith W., wife of Alson Martin of Mifflinburg; seven grandchildren, Kristina, Alyssa, Lanelle, James, Jeriah, Rylan and Nekoda; six siblings, Edward, husband of June Weaver, Carl, husband of Irene Weaver, John Weaver, Kathryn, wife of Mervin Martin, Clara, wife of Melvin Auker, Joseph, husband of Eunice Weaver and two sisters-in-law, Grace Weaver and Alice Mae Weaver.

Marion C. Weaver of Waynesboro, Va., went to be with the Lord on Sept. 29, 2021. He was born Oct. 2, 1930, a son of Franklin and Katie Grove Weaver. Marion was a lifelong resident of Augusta County and a member of the Springdale Mennonite Church.

He married Jean Wenger on April 12, 1950, who preceded him in death on May 4, 2011.

He is survived by two sons, Maynard (Gayle) and Sidney (Tammy); five grandchildren, Kendra, Darren, Brian, Bradley and Brent and 10 great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are three brothers, Oliver (Freda), Dwight (Judy), Daniel (Frances) and three sisters, Alice (Charles Boppe, deceased), Magdalene (James Brenneman), Orpha (Darrell Beyeler, deceased), all residents of Augusta County except Dwight, who is of New Jersey.

An ordained minister, Marion was part of the Hildebrand Mennonite Church for 27 years. He served on several Virginia Mennonite Conference boards for 28 years and sang with the Rockingham Male Chorus for 14 years.

Employed by his father, at age 14, Marion hauled milk from farms to processing plants in Staunton for 14 years. He was employed by Driver Heating Oil Co. for 50 years, part time, in oil delivery and burner service. On his farm Marion raised poultry, cattle, strawberries, and bunnies, and was a beekeeper for 50 years. He was an avid gardener up until the end.

Jesus says, “Come unto me all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”

Following a private family burial, a memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, Oct. 4, 2021, at Springdale Mennonite Church with Pastor Kevin Goertzen officiating.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 3, at Charlton and Groome Funeral Home, 619 Lifecore Drive, Fishersville.

Mary K. Weaver, 82, of New Holland, PA, passed away on Thursday, August 12 after a lengthy illness. Born in New Holland, she was the daughter of the late Daniel N. and Mary S. Good. She was the wife of Irwin W. Weaver with whom she shared over 63 years of marriage.

Mary Z. Weaver, 86, of Stevens, died Sunday, April 18, 2021 at the home for her daughter. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin B. Weaver, in 2006. Born in East Earl, she was the daughter of the late Aaron Z. and Ella R. (Zimmerman) Sensenig.

She was a homemaker and a member of Muddy Creek Mennonite Church, Groffdale Conference.

Surviving are six children: David S. married to Karen (Martin) Weaver, Denver, Lois S. married to Cleon Martin, Dorcas S. married to Aaron Zimmerman, Eunice S. married to Marvin Shirk, all of Dundee, NY, Ruth S. married to Mervin Zimmerman, Rockstream, NY, Esther S. Matthew S. Weaver, 20, of Stevens, passed away Sunday, February 28, 2021, after sustaining injuries in a motor vehicle accident.

He was born in Lancaster, he was the son of Vernon E. and Rhoda B. (Good) Weaver with whom he resided.

Matthew was a member of Valley View Mennonite Church. He was employed as a driver/laborer at Freedom Ranger Hatchery in Reinholds.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by a brother, V. Chad, husband of Sylvia J. (Martin) Weaver of Stevens; five sisters, Judith A. Weaver of Lebanon, Rhoda B. Weaver of Ephrata, Rachel B. Weaver of Ephrata, Mary Jo Weaver of Coatesville, Andrea R. Weaver of Shiloh, OH; five nephews and six nieces.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Levi E. and S. Norma (Groff) Weaver; maternal grandparents, Paul B. and Etta M. (Burkholder) Good and maternal step-grandmother, Edith (Newswanger) Seibel Good.

Myron G. Weaver, age 67, passed away on Thursday, December 2nd, 2021. He was born November 8, 1954, in East Earl, Pennsylvania to Paul R. Weaver and Anna (Gehman) Weaver. He is the 4th of 6 children – David Weaver (deceased), Joan (Weaver) Bang, Rhoda (Weaver) Strite, Dale Weaver, Miriam (Weaver) Rudolph.

He was married to Rachel L. Weaver on June 18, 1977, in Ephrata, Pennsylvania and enjoyed 43 years of marriage. He was the father of 9 children – Harold Weaver, LeAnn (Weaver) Burkholder, Lisa (Weaver) Strubhar, Tiffany Weaver, Joyce (Weaver) Hansen, Paul Weaver, Carol (Weaver) Stamper, Grace (Weaver) Martin, James Weaver. He is preceded by his son, Paul Weaver, and his wife, Rachel Weaver.

Nelson B. Weaver, 66, of Ephrata, passed away on Monday, December 13, 2021, at WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital.

He was born in Ephrata to the late Phares M. and Anna Mary (Burkholder) Weaver and was the husband of Ada R. Weaver with whom he shared almost 41 years of marriage before her passing in 2017.

Nora Martin (Hurst) Weaver of Fleetwood, Pa., passed away peacefully on December 23, 2021 at the age of sixty-nine. She was born to Amos and Martha (Martin) Hurst on February 24th, 1952 in Ephrata, Pa.

She grew up on a farm in Lancaster County, Pa. She met Dad at a youth gathering and married him February 7, 1974. Dad and Mom enjoyed 47 years of marriage. They were baptized into the Church of God in Christ Mennonite on April 3rd, 1978 by Sylvan Yoder in Mifflinburg, Pa.; she remained faithful to her vows with a simple trusting faith. Her passing came after her final struggle with cancer. She suffered numerous life threatening health issues that she faced with quiet courage and without complaint. She survived multiple open-heart surgeries and several bouts with cancer in the last 20 years.

Our mother was a faithful homemaker and diligently saw to the needs of her five sons. Mom enjoyed her time spent in the tract work with Dad in Hartford, CT for two years when the work began in the city. Mom never missed a sewing day; it was very important for her to be there. She never missed anyone’s Birthday, especially the grandkids, always bringing a small gift when she could. Her love for flowers was not a secret to anyone. She left her home decorated with flowers in every room. She was a natural green thumb. When we were young, she managed our half acre garden and fed us well.

Survivors include her loving husband Adam, Fleetwood, Pa. Her five sons, Leonard and Kathy, Nevin and Helene, Andrew and Jan of Fleetwood, Pa., Delbert and Amber of Eaton, Co. and Virgil and Leanne of Reading, Pa. Her brothers Ivan and Alma Hurst of Curtiss, WI, Amos and Vera Hurst of Shippensburg, Pa. Her sisters Edna, Verna and Lucy Hurst of Ephrata, Pa., sister-in-law Rebecca Hurst of Shippensburg, Pa. and 19 grandchildren. And her in-laws, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her parents-in-law, one brother Edwin Hurst, a brother in-law and one grandson Dylan.

A viewing will be Monday December 27th from 2:00 PM to 4:00PM and Monday evening 6:00PM to 7:30PM at the Church of God in Christ Mennonite, 1077 Richmond Road, Fleetwood. Pauline K. Weaver, 88, of Lancaster, formerly of Gap, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, May 18, 2021. She was the wife of Joseph L. Weaver with whom she celebrated 66 years of marriage in December. Born in Witmer, PA, she was the daughter of the late Aldus M. and Martha E. Denlinger Burkholder.

She graduated from Paradise High School as the class valedictorian in 1950. Pauline worked in her parents' grocery store in Vintage until her marriage to Joe. Pauline and Joe had a poultry and beef farm in White Horse for over 50 years. She loved doing field work on the tractor and working in her large vegetable and flower gardens. She was an excellent cook and pie baker. She also enjoyed playing tennis, basketball, and swimming in her backyard pool with her family.

Pauline was the consummate volunteer. She loved her church, Old Road Mennonite and taught Sunday School and Bible School classes to all ages. She was also part of the sewing circle, many singing groups, and the kitchen committee. She even did janitorial work and mowed the grass since their farm was across the road from the church. She also volunteered in the community with the White Horse Fire Company Auxiliary, EMT with the White Horse Ambulance and president of the Welsh Mountain Retirement Home Auxiliary. She volunteered with MCC, including the founding of the Country Gift and Thrift Shop in White Horse. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and cooking amazing meals for them.

Her siblings, children, and grandchildren will never forget the barbeques, corn roasts, and bounteous holiday dinners at the farm. Ultimately, Pauline was a great caretaker who always put others before herself.

Surviving besides her husband are 3 children: Judith K. wife of Steven Landis of Leola, Dr. Joseph L., Jr. and Dr. Sima Daniel Weaver of Pittsburgh, Joan wife of Ronald Denlinger with whom she resided, 14 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, 2 siblings: J. Ronald husband of Harriet Corby Burkholder of Lititz, Joan wife of David Hirst of Christiana. She was preceded in death by 3 sons: Jed, Jon Randall and Anthony Weaver, her twin brother, Paul Burkholder and sister, Janet Noll.

Funeral service will take place from the Old Road Mennonite Church, 5795 Old Philadelphia Pike, Gap, PA on Saturday, May 22nd at 11 a.m. with a viewing time from 9:30 a.m. until time of service. Pastor Richard Buckwalter officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery.

Robert L. Weaver, 87, a follower of Jesus, passed away on Saturday, November 20, 2021. He was married 59 years to Margaret R. Schmehl Weaver. Born in Honey Brook, he was the son of the late John B. and Esther Shirk Weaver.

Robert worked as a parts manager for El-Mor Chevrolet and Ziemer Buick. In his later years he was employed by the Caernarvon Township Water Authority. He served in the U.S. Army. Robert was a longtime member of Terre Hill Bible Fellowship Church.

Surviving besides his wife is a son, Bob husband of Denise (Nagle) Weaver of Bernville; two daughters, Sandra wife of Roger Foreman of Bath, ME and Jennifer Weaver of Dallas, TX; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by five siblings.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 27, at 11:00 A.M. at Terre Hill Bible Fellowship Church, 407 W. Main St., Terre Hill, PA with the Rev. Kevin Kirkpatrick officiating. Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family in Caernarvon Cemetery. Wilma D. Weaver, 81, of LaGrange, died on Saturday, February 27 in Sarasota, FL. She was born on November 8, 1939 in LaGrange County, to the late David J. and Alice (Hostetler) Weaver.

She was a member of the Old Order Amish Church and attended the First Pinecraft Amish Church in Sarasota, FL. She was a waitress and wintered in Florida for over 60 years cleaning houses.

Left to cherish her memory are a sister Mary Jane Bontrager of Shipshewana; three brothers, Freeman (Norma) Weaver of AZ, LeRoy (Ida) Weaver of Shipshewana, Mervin (Joan) Weaver of Nappanee; two sisters-in-law, Elva Weaver of LaGrange, Martha Weaver of Shipshewana; and many nieces and nephews.

Wilma was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Wilbur, Vernon, and David Weaver; niece, Martha Weaver and three nephews, Wayne, Darrell, and Joseph.

Visitation will be from 2:00 - 8:00 pm on Friday, March 5 at the Ervin Miller Jr. residence, 7455 W. 050 N., LaGrange. Funeral services will be at 9:30 am on Saturday, March 6 also at the residence. Emma N. (Zimmerman) Frey Weber, 88, formerly of Leola passed away on August 31, 2021 as a resident of Lincoln Christian Home. Born in Leola, she was the daughter of the late Noah H. and Esther S. (Nolt) Zimmerman. She was the loving wife of the late Marlin F. Frey, who passed away on August 15, 2006 and also the late Ion Weber, who passed away on July 3, 2017.

Emma was a member of Pequea Mennonite Church (Weaverland Conference). She was employed by Martin's Pretzels, the former Girvin's Greenhouse, Achenbach's Pastry and in her later years she transported the Amish. She enjoyed stamping cards and giving them out to friends and family.

Emma is survived by her sons; Leon R. widower of Erma J. Frey of Leola and John H. husband of Nancy Jane Frey of Annville. Also surviving are step children; Vera wife of Ray Shantz, Murray Weber, Ray Weber, Ronald Weber and Shirley wife of Willard Martin all of Ontario, Canada, eleven grandchildren and thirty-one great-grandchildren. Siblings; Mary N. widow of Daniel Martin of Millmont, David N. husband of Emma Zimmerman of Leola, Lizzie N. wife of Ammon M. Martin of Leola and sister-in-law; Pauline Zimmerman.

In addition to her parents and her husbands, she is predeceased by two great-grandchildren and brothers, John N. and his wife Florence Zimmerman and Noah N. Zimmerman.

Leonard H. Weinhold, 82, of Denver, passed away on December 15, 2021 at Fairmount Homes after a short stay. Born in Bernville, he was the son of the late Paul H. and Armeda (Hess) Weinhold. He was the loving husband of Fern L. (Glass) Weinhold, with whom he married on September 1, 1962 and shared fifty nine loving years of marriage.

Leonard was employed as a truck mechanic for thirty years until his retirement at Terre Hill Concrete. He was a member of Pine Grove Church, where he attended for forty-five years. He was a charter member of the Fivepointville Ambulance and a former firefighter for Fivepointville Fire Company.

In addition to his loving wife, Leonard is survived his children; Cindy K. widow of Mark D. Lorah of Reinholds, Randy T. husband of Susan (Davis) Weinhold of Adamstown, Tracy L. wife of Ray Gehman of Adamstown, Holly J. wife of Victor Cook of Sinnemhoning, PA and Wendy L. wife of Arlin Rissler of California, MO, fourteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Also surviving are siblings; Richard Weinhold, Douglas Weinhold and Barbara McHale.

In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by a sister; Pauline Good, a brother; Leon Weinhold and infant siblings; Michael Weinhold and Linda Weinhold.

Leland K. Weldy, 85, Elkhart, passed away 8:25 p.m. Monday, July 19, 2021 at Elkhart General Hospital surrounded by the love of his family.

Leland was born November 30, 1935, in Wakarusa, Indiana, to Maynard Weldy and Edna (Weaver) Weldy, both deceased. Leland’s two brothers and sister, Loren Weldy, Paul Weldy and Elaine Hostetler preceded him in death.

He was joined in the union of marriage to his best friend, Sigrid (Swanson) Weldy on August 25, 1962, at Augustana Lutheran Church in Elkhart, Indiana. He is survived by his two daughters, Suzanne (Tom) Jones of Osceola, Indiana, and Nora Weldy-Reed of Elkhart, Indiana. He has been blessed with five grandchildren: Kiersten, Madison, Carson, Chandler, and Mitchell.

Leland was a gifted high school basketball player at Wakarusa High School, where he was the first county player to score over 500 points in a single season and remains a member of the 1000 Point Club. His accomplishments on the court led to his induction into the Elkhart County Sports Hall of Fame. He was a member of Goshen College’s first Intercollegiate Men’s Basketball team in 1956. After graduating from Goshen College in 1957, he proceeded to get his Master’s in Education at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana.

Starr Commonwealth School for Boys in Albion, Michigan, served as Leland’s first teaching job. He went on to coach basketball and teach at the American Community School in Beirut, Lebanon, for two years. He enjoyed the experience of travelling throughout the Europe, East Africa, and the Middle East. He was a member of the Admissions Staffs at both DePauw University and Goshen College. Leland went on to serve as a guidance counselor in the South Bend Community School Corporation for many years, where he positively influenced the many young lives in which he encountered. He retired in 1996.

Leland has been an active member of Kern Road Mennonite Church for many years. He has volunteered at Little Flower Catholic Church helping out at the food pantry, while also volunteering at Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminary assisting with the grounds keeping. Leland enjoyed life living on Simonton Lake in Elkhart, Indiana, where he spent his day with his family. He also enjoyed visiting the family cabin in Northern Michigan, where mushroom hunting and hiking was an annual activity. Leland and his family would also frequently visit Englewood, Florida, making memories by the ocean every spring.
Leland was a positive influence to everyone he met, and will be missed.

Friends and family are invited to a visitation from 5-6 pm Friday, July 23, 2021 and 1 hour prior to an 11 am memorial service Saturday, July 24, 2021 both at Kern Road Mennonite Church, 18211 Kern Road, South Bend, IN 46614. Pastors David and Janice Sutter and Pastor Jen Shenk will officiate.

Max K. Weldy, 85, of Goshen, passed away Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at Elkhart Hospital.

Along with his wife Max was survived by four children, Gary (Mary) Weldy, Larry (Barb) Weldy, Claudia (Doug) Blosser and Dennis (Betty) Weldy all of Goshen; 14 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a great grandson, Keagan Weldy; three sisters, Lois Marks, Vivian Shrock and Verna Cross and a brother, Mearl Weldy.

Max was a member of Pleasant View Church, Goshen. He was a farmer for 35 years and hauled feed for Miller Feed Mill. He enjoyed horses and took mini horses on parades.

Visitation will be Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2021 from 2 to 4 and from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2021 from 9 a.m. until the 10 a.m. funeral service at Pleasant View Church. Pastor Mark Snyder and Ron Diener will officiate.

Helena Grace Yoder Wells was born June 14, 1921, in Denbigh, Virginia, and died February 14, 2021, in Chester, Virginia. She was the ninth of ten children born to J. Harvey Yoder and Irene Hertzler Yoder.

Helena grew up in a house full of brothers and sisters, an outdoor girl who, from a young age, would rather help with the milking than set the table. In later years, her beautiful lawn and rose gardens took the place of the activities of the family dairy farm.

In 1939, Helena left home to study a year at Eastern Mennonite College in Harrisonburg, Virginia. At the death of her mother Irene in 1941, however, Helena remained on the farm to help maintain the home for her father until he remarried in 1951.

As a career, Helena managed the office and sales room of Yoder Frozen Foods on 35th Street in downtown Newport News. There she met Herbert Wells, whom she married in June, 1969.

Helena grew up in the Warwick River Mennonite Church. She and Herbert also spent many years in fellowship at Calvary Community Church in downtown Newport News.

Some years after Herbert passed away, Helena moved to the Virginia Mennonite Retirement Community in Harrisonburg, Virginia, where she spent her later years.

The last of her family, Helena will be remembered by many friends and by her 32 nieces and nephews who loved her dearly and especially by Lynn Brunk to whom she was a second mother. The family will celebrate her life at a private event at a later date.

Adam O. Wenger, 67, of Leola, passed away on Monday, August 30, 2021, at home.

He was born in Lancaster to the late Noah H. and Anna M. (Oberholtzer) Wenger and was the husband of the late Karolyn S. (Hurst) Wenger who passed away December 9, 2020.

Adam was a farmer for 42 years, who also enjoyed gardening and serving his family.

Adam is survived by four children, Verlin, husband of Rose (Horst) Wenger of Ephrata, Linford, husband of Diane (Rutt) Wenger of Leola, Joelle, wife of Melvin Ray Martin of Denver, Andrew Wenger of Cole Twp; 11 grandchildren and five siblings, Noah O. Wenger of Ephrata, Mary, wife of Raymond Zeiset of Myerstown, Ivan, husband of Martha (Nolt) Wenger of Ephrata, Elvin, husband of Charlotte (Martin) Wenger of Ephrata, and Edna Mae Wenger of Wernersville.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Vince and Malachi.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, September 2, 2021, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at Farm Crest Chapel at Fairmount Homes, 1100 Farm Crest Drive, Ephrata. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 3, 2021, at 9:00 AM at Farm Crest Chapel, with further services at 9:30 AM from the Groffdale Mennonite Church, 90 Groffdale Road, Leola, with Bishop Curvin Zimmerman officiating. Lloyd Edward Wenger, 90, a resident of Dayton, passed away Sunday, Nov. 28, 2021, at Sentara RMH Medical Center. Mr. Wenger was born in Dayton, Va., on Sept. 10, 1931, and was a son of the late John Jacob and Naomi Virginia Early Wenger.

He was a farmer and woodworker. In 1962, he was ordained into the ministry. He was a member of Pleasant View Old Order Mennonite Church.

Also surviving are his children, Lewis Wenger and wife, Margaret, of Dayton, Phyllis Zimmerman and husband, Joseph, of Bridgewater, Linden Wenger and wife, Kathy, of Bridgewater, Allen Wenger and wife, Phyllis, of Bridgewater, Franklin Wenger and wife, Karen, of Bridgewater, Gabe Wenger and wife, Esther, of Dayton and Mary Ellen Showalter and husband, Willard, of Dayton; brothers, Neil Wenger and wife, Annie, of Dayton and Willis Wenger and wife, Ruth, of Dayton; 29 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Wenger was preceded in death by his siblings, Edith Wenger Good and husband, John O. Good, and John E. Wenger and wife, Mattie.

The ministers of the church will conduct a funeral service Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2021, at 10 a.m. at Pleasant View Old Order Mennonite Church. Burial will be held in the church cemetery.

The body will be taken to his home where a walk through visitation will be held Tuesday, Nov. 30, from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m.

Lucille Wenger, 100 years young, passed away Friday afternoon, October 1, 2021. She was born January 5, 1921 to Samuel C. and Edna (Shank) Pletcher. She married Clifford Wenger on December 27, 1941. He preceded her in death on June 6, 2018.

She is survived by daughter Jane Sell (Robert Pierre), and sons Phil (Gloria) and Eric (Elizabeth), two granddaughters, Jenna and Kylie, one great-granddaughter, and “adopted” family Marilyn (Doug) Rosenberg, Duane Wickey, and Trudy (Riaz) Merchant and children. Lucille’s parents, and an infant brother, Warren, preceded her in death.

Lucille was a homemaker. One of her favorite things to do was to bake, especially in her later years. She enjoyed having friends and neighbors in for coffee or tea and sharing her baked goods with them. She also liked to garden and spend time outdoors. She volunteered at Miller’s Merry Manor in Wakarusa once a week for ten years and was a recipient of the Volunteer Service Award. In her spare time, Lucille was an avid reader, switching to audiobooks when her eyesight failed.
Lucille was a member of Yellow Creek Mennonite Church.

Visitation will be from 11 am to 1 pm Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at Rieth Rohrer Ehret Lienhart Funeral Home, 117 W. Waterford St. Wakarusa, IN 46573. A celebration of life service will follow at 1 pm. Burial will be at Olive (West) Cemetery.

Dalton - Nelson R. Wenger, age 76, of Dalton, died Saturday, October 16, 2021, at Wooster Community Hospital in Wooster, following a period of declining health.

Nelson was born on February 5, 1945, in Wooster, to Ray and Mary (Good) Wenger and graduated from Dalton High School in 1963. He married Phyllis M. Wenger on August 8, 1970 in North Lawrence and she survives.

Nelson was a member of East Union Mennonite Church where he taught Sunday School and served as a Trustee. He will be remembered by his church and community as the guy who could fix almost anything and always had tools in his pockets. He enjoyed working on his farm, but most of all he loved spending time with his family, grandchildren, and his dog, Sassy.

Surviving in addition to his wife, Phyllis, are four sons, Lynn (Debra) Wenger of Dalton, Michael (Rita) Wenger of Dalton, Terry (Shellie) Wenger of Apple Creek, and Mark (Melissa) Wenger of Dalton; 14 grandchildren, Bryce (Amanda), Natasha, Carmen, Brooke, Jessica, Jordan, Joey, Jamee, Meridith, Emma, Ellie, Sawyer, Caleb and Kate; great granddaughter, Eleanor; and four siblings, Nancy (Lyle) Kropf of Wickenburg, AZ, Leonard (Sharon) Wenger of Dalton, Wilbur (Mary) Wenger of Dalton, and Faye (Ray) Shaum of Orrville.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and an infant grandson, Aaron Samuel Wenger.

Services will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, October 21, 2021, at East Union Mennonite Church, 10678 Old Lincoln Way, Orrville, with Pastors Matt Eberly, Ray Shaum, and Lee Mummau officiating and will be live streamed at https://www.facebook.com/aublefuneralhome. Burial will take place at church cemetery.

Friends may call on Wednesday at East Union Mennonite Church, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 6:00 to 8:00 pm, or one hour prior to the service on Thursday. He was born in West Earl Township to the late David G. and Lydia (Zimmerman) Wenger and was the husband of the late Emma Z. (Sensenig) Wenger.

Norman is survived by six children, Lester S., husband of Joyce Wenger of Terre Hill, Mervin S., husband of Elaine Wenger of Womelsdorf, Norman S., Jr., husband of Fern Wenger of New Holland, James S. Wenger, at home, Luella S., wife of Galen Martin of Manheim, Edith S., wife of Leon Martin of Lebanon; 34 grandchildren; 80 great-grandchildren and five siblings, Samuel, husband of the late Anna Wenger of Lititz, Martin, husband of Verna Wenger of Lititz, Willis, husband of the late Mary Wenger of Womelsdorf, David, husband of Erma Wenger of Leola and Ruth Wenger of Lititz.

Verna S. Wenger, 62, of Lititz, passed away on Monday, March 29, 2021, after a lengthy battle with cancer. She was under hospice care the last five weeks.

She was born in Lititz to Norman Z., of Lititz, and the late Emma (Sensenig) Wenger.

Verna worked in the bakery of Martin's Country Market and later at Lititz Family Cupboard in food prep.

Michael "Mike" H. Wengerd 26, of Apple Creek passed away on Wednesday July 28, 2021 from injuries sustained in a UTV accident in the St. Anthony Sand Dunes during a family vacation in Idaho. He was born on December 12, 1994 to Henry E. and Ella (Miller) Wengerd. On May 21, 2016 he married Mary J. Miller who survives. Michael was the owner/operator of Wengerd Transport and was a member of United Dayspring Mennonite in Berlin.

In addition to his parents and his wife Mary, he is survived by his brothers and sisters, Edna Wengerd of Kidron, Betty (James) Petryzcak of Sugarcreek, Reuben (Christina) Wengerd of Fredericksburg, Raymond (Naomi) Wengerd of Apple Creek, Fannie (Marcus) Hershberger of New Bedford, Katie Wengerd, Miriam Wengerd, Mandy Wengerd (special friend Clarence Schlabach), and Jacob Wengerd all of the home; his grandmother, Amanda (late Andy) Miller; parents-in-law, Jonas D. (Edna) Miller of Fredericksburg; and nieces and nephews, James Jr., Gabriel, Matthew, Melissa, Dana, Jina, Leala, Lacy, Lucas, and Lyron. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ezra and Fannie Wengerd and Andy M. Miller.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 2 at 10:00 a.m. at United Dayspring Mennonite 4955 W Main St. Berlin, OH 44610 with Pastor John Yoder officiating. Sara L. Wengerd, 79, of Goshen, died Wednesday, December 15, 2021, at her home.

Sara was the first child born to Roman and Shirley (Erb) Gingerich in Iowa City, Iowa on August 23, 1942.

She is survived by two daughters, Heidi Wengerd of Christiansburg, Virginia, and Kristin (Jonathan) Friesen of Chicago, Illinois; as well as two grandchildren, Nathan and Caroline Friesen.

On August 27, 1965, she married John Wengerd. He died April 23, 1991, in a construction accident.

Sara’s siblings are James Gingerich of Maryland, June (Fred) Yoder of New Mexico, Carolyn (John) Johns of New Mexico and Charlotte (Burdette) Gunden of Michigan; as well as five nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Molly Riggs Gingerich.

Sara attended Goshen High School and graduated from Hesston Academy in Kansas in 1960. She is a graduate of Goshen College with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She worked in obstetrics at Elkhart Hospital in the mid-sixties, taught nursing in Canada and was employed at Oaklawn for fourteen years.

John and Sara raised their daughters in Salisbury, Pennsylvania where they lived for twenty years. Sara traveled extensively, journeying with John around the world in eleven months. Their most memorable trip was by bus from Calcutta to London in the late 1960’s.

As a freelance writer, two of her books were published; “Crossings”, interviews of elderly people in Belfast about the conflict in Northern Ireland and “A Healing Grief”, an account of her husband’s death and what she and her family found helpful.

Sara also wrote poetry. She loved to read and invited friends to join a book group. She assisted in beginning Stephen Ministry at College Mennonite Church, led grief groups, and joined 8th St. Mennonite Church in 2018.

From 1998 thru 2001, she served with Mennonite Central Committee in Northern Ireland, living in Belfast and working first at the WAVE Trauma Center, then at An Crann/The Tree, an organization to collect stories of “The Troubles.” This assignment was the fulfillment of a long-term dream.

Sara was baptized at College Mennonite Church. Faith was foundational to her life, and she was especially inspired by classical and church music. Singing in the church choir was spiritual refreshment for her.

A virtual memorial service will be conducted Sunday, January 9, 2022 at 7 p.m. (EST). A link for the service will be posted closer to the date.

According to her wishes, Sara’s body will be cremated and interred beside her husband at Springs Mennonite Church Cemetery, Pennsylvania at a later date.

Diane Jean Landis Wilson, 67, of Lititz, passed away on December 28, 2021, after a courageous battle with congestive heart failure. She is now at rest and leaves behind a wonderful legacy. Diane was born December 3, 1954, to the late J. Omar Landis and Irene Bear Landis.

Diane graduated from Manheim Central High School in 1972. She loved singing in the choir and directing musicals at Lancaster First Assembly of God Church. She then became the director of Kiddie Kollege at Lancaster First Assembly of God for many years and taught Pre-K. She loved each child, planting seeds of love and Jesus to each class she taught. In later years, she worked in home health care for the elderly at both Brethren Village and home residences. She attended East Petersburg Mennonite for many years, and then most recently Ephrata Community Church. Diane loved the change of seasons, the beach, day trips, her pets, and holidays. Most of all, she loved spending time with family and friends. Diane is now rejoicing with the angels in the presence of Her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. “To live is Christ, to die is gain”.

Diane leaves behind her loving husband, Lawson “Chip” Wilson; daughters, Amanda, married to Brian Krauss, and their children Sophia and Benjamin; Daniela, married to Eric Reddinger, and their children Isaac and Maggie, and a stepson, Zachary Wilson. Also surviving is a sister, Bobbe, married to Barry Sauder, a brother, Jim, married to Sharon Landis, and several nieces.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Diane’s Funeral Service at East Petersburg Mennonite Church, 6279 Main Street, East Petersburg, on Monday, January 3, 2022, at 11:00 AM. Friends may visit with the family at the church from 9:30 AM until the time of service. Interment in the adjoining church cemetery. He was born November 3, 1933 in Goshen to Ora and Gola (Shrock) Wilson. On December 4, 1955 he married Roma Weldy.

She survives along with three sons, Kent (Darlene) Wilson and Gregory (Kim Evans) Wilson, both of Goshen and Jeffrey Wilson of Cromwell; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and two siblings, Veradine Berkey of Elkhart and Lyle Wilson of Goshen.

He graduated from Jefferson Township School in 1951 after attending there 12 years. He received a Bachelor’s degree from Goshen College in 1955 and a Master’s degree from Indiana University, Bloomington, in 1961.

Mr. Wilson spent over 40 years as an educator – retiring from Middlebury Community Schools in 1998 after 34 years in the school system. He taught at Jefferson School, his alma mater, for two years and then as principal for 27 years. During his tenure at Jefferson School – the school evolved from a K-12 school to a K-8 and then a K-5. He was the first Assistant Superintendent of the school district, serving for four years.

Mr. Wilson also served seven years at Betania Mennonite School near Aibonito, Puerto Rico under Mennonite Board of Missions. He served as teacher for two years and as principal for five years.

After being retired for a few years, Mr. Wilson began teaching English as a Second Language at Northridge High School during the 2002-03 and 2010-11 school years.

He grew up in the Clinton Frame Church and was a longtime member of Pleasant View Church.

From time to time Gerald and his wife owned and operated several small businesses – Wilson’s Rental Properties, Nappanee Dairy Queen, Clark Convenience Store and Wilson’s Sunoco. He was also involved, with his son, Kent, in the Dollar Store at College Plaza.

Public visitation, following the county COVID guidelines, 25 people at a time, will be Sunday, January 17, 2021, from 1 to 3 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. A private family only, funeral service will be held Monday, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. The service will be streamed and the link will be posted on www.yoderculpfuneralhome.com.

Mary Ellen Wilson, 80, Goshen, died Thursday, August 12, 2021 at her home. She was born July 12, 1942, in Goshen, to Lloyd & Elsie M. (Hartman) Stauffer.

Surviving are daughters, Melody (Larry) Trowbridge, Wakarusa, Pamela Wineland, Elkhart, son, Scott (Pam) Wineland, Goshen, 5 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and a brother, Larry (Phyllis) Stauffer, Goshen.

Preceding her in death are her parents, husband, Glen Leinbach and a son, Robert E. Wineland.

Mary Ellen was a waitress at the former County Seat, Goshen for 20+ years. She was a member of Yellow Creek Mennonite Church and a part of the ladies VFW Auxiliary, Goshen. Mary Ellen was an awesome cook.

Visitation will be Monday, August 16, 2021 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at Yellow Creek Mennonite Church, 64901 CR 11, Goshen with a graveside service following at 11:00 a.m.

Reid E. Wissler, 90, of Lancaster, entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus, Monday, August 9, 2021, at Lancaster General Hospital-Penn Medicine. He was born in Voganville to the late Eugene R. and Elizabeth (Burkhart) Wissler and was the husband of Peggy (Weaver) Wissler with whom he shared 70 years of marriage.

Reid was a member of Neffsville Mennonite Church. During his working years, he was a farmer and commercial real estate investor/operator. He was vice president and board member of the Pennsylvania Potato Growers Assoc., vice president, treasurer and board member at Ephrata Community Hospital, past president of West Earl Fire Company and West Earl Lions Club. Reid was awarded the Lions Club Melvin Jones award and served on the West Earl Twp. Planning Commission. Reid was a 32nd° Scottish Rite Freemason and was a member of Green Laurel Hunting Club. He also served as treasurer for State Senator Noah Wenger for 31 years. Aside from Reid's professional accomplishments, he was well known for his humor, love of Pine View Dairy chocolate milk and marshmallow Peeps. He leaves a legacy of faithfulness and a closely knit family. He will be missed by family and friends but may we all rejoice in the peace of knowing he is at rest in the eternal glory of King Jesus.

A memorial and celebration of life service will be held Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at 11:00 AM, at Neffsville Mennonite Church, 2371 Lititz Pike, Lancaster. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family in the Brownstown Evangelical Cemetery.

A. Clyde Witmer, age 94 of Landis Homes, passed away on June 3, 2021. He was the husband of the late Anna May Habecker Witmer. Born in Lancaster he was the son of the late Arthur G. and Katie Landis Witmer. He was a lifetime member of Willow Street Mennonite Church, where in the past he served as a trustee, and he enjoyed his Men’s Sunday school class.

Clyde was a plumber for many years at the former Harry C. Rohrer & Sons, later known as The Rohrer Company. He enjoyed farming, hunting at Twin Springs hunting camp, going on Bob Neff bus trips, traveling across the U.S., going to auctions, watching the Phillies, reading, doing puzzles, but most of all enjoyed spending time with all his family.

He is survived by 5 children; J. Charles husband of Lucille Hess Witmer of Lancaster, A. Ray husband of Sharon Mast Witmer of Holtwood, Joseph H. husband of Julia Weaver Witmer of Elm, David P. Witmer of Lancaster, Ellen H. wife of Mark Weaver of Ephrata, 26 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and 2 sisters; Ethel Swartzentruber of Iowa, and Dorothy Hess of Ohio.

He was preceded in death by a son, Robert C. Witmer husband of Sharon (Kevin) Adams of Lancaster, a grandson, Mitchel Witmer, and 4 siblings; Ruth Garman, Anna Miller, Donald Witmer, and Lois Witmer.

Funeral service will take place from Willow Street Mennonite Church, 399 E. Penn Grant Rd, Willow Street, PA 17584, on Wednesday, June 9th at 10 a.m.. There will be a viewing at 9 a.m. until time of service. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery.

Columbiana - David Witmer, age 85, of Columbiana, passed away on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born on June 23, 1935 in Columbiana, a son of the late Ezra and Lulu Shaum Witmer.

David had worked as a farmer all his life and was the founder of Witmer’s Feed and Grain in Columbiana. He loved farming and had an appreciation for animals that started at an early age. It came as no surprise when David started raising exotic animals. People would come from miles away to see the animals on the Witmer farm. David took great pride in the appearance of his farm and his beloved flower beds. He had a passion for flower gardening, and it gave him great joy to see his flowers grow. He also had a great sense of humor and was known for his mischievous pranks. Mostly, David will best be remembered as a Godly man. He was a lifelong, active member of North Lima Mennonite Church and the Gideons. He served as both an elder and worship leader at his church and helped supervise many church building projects. David also spent many hours passing out bibles and spreading the word of God.

On February 19, 2016, David lost the love of his life, and wife of 59 years, Joanna R. Steiner Witmer, whom he married on September 29, 1956.

He is survived by his children, Terry (Tammy) Witmer of North Lima, Denise (William) Niemi of Salem, Mike (Laura) Witmer of Salem, Michelle (Andrew) Dula of Lancaster, PA, Sharyn (Jim) Iwaniec of Portland, OR, Jenelle (Rodney) Alderfer of Harrisonburg, VA, and Beth (Jonathan) Bowman of Lancaster, PA; sister-in-law, Jan Witmer of Englewood, FL; eighteen grandchildren, four great grandchildren.

David was preceded in death by his wife, parents and his six siblings, Vernon Witmer, Anna Mary Weaver, Martha Bacher, Warren Witmer, Arlene Weaver, and John Witmer.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm at the North Lima Mennonite Church.

A “Celebration of Life” will be held on Thursday, May 27, 2021, at 11:00 am at the North Lima Mennonite Church, North Lima, with Pastor Robert Wengerd officiating.

Myerstown - Elisabeth Landis Witmer, 102, of Myerstown,Pa, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 18, 2021.

She was the wife of the late Austin W. Witmer. She was a member of Myerstown Mennonite Church. During her long life she was an avid gardener, quilt maker, factory worker, and bus driver for ELCO school district. She is survived by a daughter Lois L. Witmer a son Mark L.(Miriam) Witmer, One granddaughter Melody (John) Mellinger, and three great-grandchildren, Brent, Lynette, and Dwayne. All of Myerstown, and one brother Mark M.(Elaine) Landis of Richland.

She was preceded in death by her parents Andrew G. Sr. And Bertha Myers Landis, four brothers and three sisters.

Gwendolyn J. Witmer, 71, of Reamstown, died of cancer complications at her home on Saturday, January 30, 2021.

Born in Hagerstown, MD, she was a daughter of the late Earl, Jr. and Mary Louise (Shank) Martin. She was married to David E. Witmer for 49 years.

Surviving in addition to her husband are nine children, David N., (Sonja Martin) Witmer of Reamstown, Charlotte E. (John) Bergey of Reamstown, J. Dervin (Kari Bredeweg) Witmer of Cassopolis, MI, Caroline B. (Joseph) Bergey of Manns Choice, Charity A. (Anthony) Garman of Adamstown, Dean K. (Rosanna Reiff) Witmer of Reamstown, Cherie M. (Aaron) Reiff of Reamstown, Doran L. (Rose Landis) Witmer of Reamstown, and Chelesa R. (David) Lapp of Hampton, CT; 49 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two brothers, J. Dennis (Jeanne Hess) Martin of Myerstown, and Don L. (Mildred McGrath) Martin of Mifflintown; and a sister, Rhoda A. (Eugene) Martin of Ephrata.

J. Richard "Dick" Witmer, 75, of Manheim, PA, went home to be with his Lord and Savior whom he loved and served on Monday evening, October 11, 2021 at Lancaster General Hospital following a brief illness. Born in Rapho Twp., he was the son of the late Paul M. and Mabel K. Myers Witmer. He was married to Nancy J. (Myer) Witmer with whom he shared 55 years of marriage. They loved traveling together and visited most of the 50 United States. They also enjoyed exploring the mountains and trails of Pennsylvania.

Dick attended Hernley Mennonite Church his entire life and was an active and faithful member. He served the church in numerous capacities including as Elder, song leader, and adult Sunday school teacher. As a young man, he volunteered two years in 1-W service in Boston. In 1971, Dick realized his dream by starting his own business. Fifty years later, Witmer Automotive Service is still serving the Manheim and surrounding communities.

Dick remained fit by walking at least 12,000 steps per day. He and Nancy could often be found hiking the local rail trail. He also loved to garden and every year planted far too many tomato plants! He also restored three antique Oliver tractors and found great joy in taking part in antique tractor pulling events. His three shelves of trophies attest to his tractor pulling prowess.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Richard, Jr., husband of Jennifer M. Lehman Witmer, of Manheim and Steven, husband of Beth Bechtold Witmer, of Garland, TX; five grandchildren, Sarah Giangiobbe (Joseph, II), Joshua Witmer (Ellie), Emily Witmer, Laith Witmer, and Timothy Witmer; two great grandsons; a great granddaughter to be born in January; six sisters, Mary Ellen Witmer of East Petersburg, Jean Stauffer (Richard), State College, Doris Fahnestock (Dale), Lancaster, Barbara Brubaker (John), Buhl, ID, Elizabeth Kepnes (Scott), Merrimack, NH, and Rose Wichterman (Robert), Powder Springs, GA; and six step brothers. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step mother, Mary Zimmerman Witmer, and a sister, Janet Peifer.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday afternoon, October 17, 2021 at 2:30 PM at Chiques Church, 4045 Sunnyside Road, Manheim, PA. Interment will follow in Hernley Mennonite Cemetery. The family will receive guests during a public viewing on Sunday afternoon from 1:00 PM until the time of the service.

Lester Phares Witmer, 53, of Weyers Cave, passed away on Monday, August 30, 2021.

Lester was born in Salem, Ohio, on November 16, 1967, a son of Martha (Martin) Witmer of Rockingham, and David Witmer of Weyers Cave.

Lester was a member of Bank Mennonite Church and was the owner of Witmer's Concrete Pumping.

On July 2, 1988, he was united in marriage to Mary (Hoover) Witmer, who survives.

Lester is also survived by sons, Duane Witmer and Dean Witmer, both of Weyers Cave; daughters, Destiny Freed and husband, Brendon, of Dayton, and LeAnn Witmer and Lori Witmer, both of Weyers Cave.

Additional family surviving members include sisters, Maryann Miller and husband, Nathaniel, of Dalton, Ohio, Louise Tice and husband, Ben, of Broadway, and Martha Jean Manetta and husband, Mark, of Fulks Run; and brothers, Joel Witmer of Dundee, Ohio, and Neal Witmer and wife, Christina, of Morrison, Tenn. He was preceded in death by sister-in-law, Ellen Witmer.

Visitation will be held from 2 until 8 p.m. on Thursday, September 2, 2021, at the Dayton Mennonite Church. The family will not be present from 4 until 6 p.m.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Friday, September 3, 2021, at Dayton Mennonite Church. Burial will follow at Bank Mennonite Church Cemetery in Rushville.

Phyllis M. Witmer, 82, of Ephrata, passed away on Tuesday, August 10, 2021, at WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital.

She was born in Farmersville to the late Henry and Helen (Stump) McCreary and was the wife of Abram S. Witmer with whom she celebrated 60 years of marriage on July 15th.

Phyllis was a homemaker. She enjoyed going to the mountains with her family, and attending auctions and sales, especially the Farmersville Auction.

In addition to her husband, Phyllis is survived by three sons, Kirk L., husband of Kaye (Bowman) Witmer of Ephrata, Kim L., husband of Janell (Sensenig) Witmer of Reinholds, Kent L., husband of Doris (Wenger) Witmer of Akron; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Pearl, wife of the late John Landis and a sister-in-law, Linda McCreary.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Fern L., wife of the late James Martin and a brother, Carl McCreary.

A visitation will be held on Monday, August 16, from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at the Metzler Mennonite Church, 515 W. Metzler Road, Ephrata, followed by funeral services at 10:30 AM with Pastor Lee Roy Martin officiating. Interment will take place in the adjoining church cemetery.

Lois B. Wolgemuth, 86, formerly of Mount Joy, passed away on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at Landis Homes. Born in Mount Joy, she was the daughter of the late John K. and Mae (Brubaker) Wolgemuth.

Lois blessed many children teaching elementary school at Immokalee, FL, Harrisburg, New York, Bolivia, and ending with 18 years at Kraybill Mennonite School. Lois also worked at Nurses Direct and enjoyed traveling around the world with her sister and many friends. Lois was a fun filled person who loved all people, experienced life to the fullest and blessed all those she came in contact with.

Lois is survived by a brother, John H. Wolgemuth, husband of Thelma of Mount Joy; eighteen nieces and nephews; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by three sisters, Thelma Wolgemuth, Jean Breneman, and Lonnie Wu; and a brother, Lloyd Wolgemuth.

A memorial service honoring Lois's life will be held at the Mount Joy Mennonite Church, 320 Musser Road, Mount Joy on Sunday, May 16, 2021 at 2 PM. Interment will be private. Floyd William Wood, 83, of Lovington, Illinois passed away at 11:05 a.m. Friday, September 17, 2021, at Green Gardens Home in Sullivan, Illinois.

Private family visitation and funeral will be held with Rev. Glen Rhodes officiating. Burial will be in Keller Cemetery, Lovington, Illinois.

Floyd was born September 15, 1938, in Lake City, Illinois; the son of Frankie Edward and Juanita (Howard) Wood. He married Clara Plank on November 26, 1960, in Arthur, Illinois. He was a member of the Arthur Mennonite Church, Arthur, Illinois. He retired from Caterpillar in 1997 and was a member of the Corvair Car Club.

Floyd is survived by his wife, Clara (Plank) of Lovington IL; children, Connie Wilson of League City TX, Dennis Wood of Anderson IN, and Marcia (Kevin) Franklin of Lovington IL; sister-in-law, Zora Wood of Lovington IL; grandchildren, David, Marcus (Pam), Cheryl, Robert Miller, Jennifer, Brett, Tanner (Shanah) Franklin and great-grandchildren, Maddox, Abigail, Tinley, Landen, Scarlett Franklin, Kristofer, Ryleigh, Claira, Everett Miller.
